The Summary of the 4th IAEA-MOE Experts Meeting on Environmental Remediation

Date: November 6-10, 2017

The 4th IAEA-MOE Experts Meeting on Environmental Remediation of Off-Site Area after the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station Accident
was held in Tokyo and Fukushima from 6-10,November,2017.

This was the last of a series of four meetings in which representatives of the MOE and other Japanese authorities and professionals had the chance to discuss with the IAEA team of experts.
The meeting covered major topics as below;

• Updates and Future Plans for the Environmental Remediation Activities
• Involvement of Local Stakeholders in the Decision-Making Process and Communication of Environmental Remediation Activities to the International Community

IAEA team highlighted four conclusions including the importance of continuous MOE's the assessment of the effectiveness of the stakeholders communication methods and strategies
